First, Krav Maga training is an intense workout! Any type of exercise will help you relieve stress from your life.

However, Krav Maga training also involves a lot of striking drills. Every time you strike a pad with a punch, elbow, kick, or knee it gives you a constructive way to release that pent up frustration you may experience in your life. When you are stressed out nothing will feel better than hitting something, and hitting it hard!

But what makes our Krav Maga training classes and lessons unique is our emphasis on “replicating reality” (without sacrificing safety). In our self-defense classes you will be put under stress. You will learn how to deal with real-life attacks such as being hit, choked, pinned to the ground, attacked with a weapon, etc. You will learn to perform these defenses while dealing with stresses such as fatigue, distraction, and adrenaline.

Last week I was teaching a private lesson for Rick and he was explaining how he remained calm during a stressful meeting at his work and how Krav Maga helped him with that. After dealing with fellow students trying to punch, kick, choke, and tackle him to the ground he said dealing with stressful things at work didn’t seem like such a big deal in comparison.
